Dr. Thames
Dr. Brittany Thames was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She is a proud Golden Eagle having received her Bachelors and Masters degree in Public Health from the University of Southern Mississippi. After finishing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Mississippi State she completed a small animal rotating Internship in Springfield Virginia. She then traveled to Texas A&M for a three year Emergency and Critical Care residency.
After successful completion of her residency training she returned to Mississippi to become the Service Chief of Emergency and Critical Care at MSU CVM. Dr. Thames is now grateful to have returned home and be practicing in the Hub city!
Dr. Thames loves veterinary medicine for the difference it can make in the lives of her patients and their people. She enjoys meeting each client and their beloved companion, determining the best treatment plan for their needs and committing to caring for them with honesty, integrity and compassion. While she is passionate about all aspects of the practice of veterinary medicine she especially enjoys dermatology, urgent/emergency care, soft tissue surgery and internal medicine cases!
Dr. Thames is a proud fur-mom to Stevie Lynne, Winston James and Olivia Imogen (the pups) along with Merle, Poe and Eleanor (the kittens)! She is thankful and blessed to be doing what she loves near the family and friends she adores here at home!
